NEW DELHI: The tragic death of Dr Archana Sharma on March 29 in Jaipur has raised questions about the protection of doctors who are treated unfairly over the treatment and recovery of a patient.

An appeal filed in the Supreme Court seeks law for the protection of doctors when faced with such biased scenario enfolded with the comprehensive guidelines for cases of medical negligence. The unwarranted behaviour and assault of our saviours need to be reported and addressed all over the nation.

Earlier, a plea was filed in the Supreme Court for setting up a medico legal cell and related guidelines for handling all the reported cases of medical negligence in all the police stations across the country. These appeals provide protection to both doctors and patients over biased assault and suspicious diagnosis, and treatment respectively.
